CUPIDO
Journey
Immersed in the deep, shadowy green of a forested environment, CUPID stands with a watchful, slightly concerned gaze. The white wings and the arrows are symbols of power, they are present, but his posture betrays the enormous responsibility and the doubt.
The heart’s question
In the shadow of what we think we know, CUPID holds his arrows. They are loaded, but the destination is uncertain. What is love really? Is it the lightning strike or the quiet growth?
This photo captures the moment of the doubt and silence before the flight. It is a reflection on the quest for the essence: the innocence, the uncertainty and the powerful promise that lies in every heart.
What does love mean in our modern world, does it even exist and can we still catch it?
Blind
CUPID is not only the bringer, but also the seeker.
He has a paradox: the god of love, surrounded by darkness, who must find his own path. The arrows are there, the wings are there, but the search for what ‘true’ love is makes us all blind and seeking.
Seeking
Love is not a straight line. Sometimes we stand at a distance, lost in the overwhelming world of the unknown, not knowing whom we must strike or where we belong.
Sometimes the source is close, but we appear to hold ourselves blind, afraid of the vulnerability of seeing.
The burden of the heart
Even the bringer of love can be bowed down by its weight. Sometimes the search becomes overwhelming, the pressure too great, and we find solace in the silence, turned away from the world.
I capture a moment in which CUPID is no longer the shooter, but the one who feels, who struggles with the complexity of the emotions he so often unleashes. A moment of introspection and perhaps even of sorrow, in which the question ‘what is love?’ is no longer just an intellectual search, but a deeply felt burden of the heart.
